I see a problem with this:

You’re gonna be dealing with a bunch of old-ass confused people who will DRAIN THE LIFE OUT OF YOU trying to fix their stupid problems.

I think you’re capable of making something better.

I know that guy “The Video Doctor” sells “how to use Microsoft Excel” kind of videos…and they do only TV commercial advertising….because that’s where computer illiterate people hang out.

They DO NOT hang out on Craigslist or even know what that is!

Maybe you can do a more expensive product based around your current IT customers….here’s an example:

Let’s say all day you and your biz partner fix GooGa’s for businesses.

….and every time a new employee is added to that business…they have to bring YOU in to show them how to use that GooGa.

Instead make some videos and throw them online or on a DVD….and sell the business that DVD to show their new employees.

“Hey Mr. Business Guy….you pay us $600 to train each of your employees….instead, just show them this $150 DVD, and you’ll save $4,000 every year”

    Thanks Nev,
I think what you’re saying is find one problem in IT. Create a way to solve just that and then replicate the hell out of it.
Hmmm.. now I need to go figure out what ONE thing we can solve and replicate.

Great idea David…doing something similar to what you mentioned is what I’ve wrestled with for the last few years in relation to helping online entrepreneur types figure out how to use the web and accomplish what they need, ie, get a website, figure out their newsletter, sell a product.

I’ve learned, and in large part to Noah, that businesses start by narrowing your issue and drilling it home. I still learn this daily as I still try to offer too much, I like solving everything, I like being a computer tech help guy, but only when I sell a service or training that is for one really specific problem do I make sales.

I don’t know if it’s just not how computer guys brains work, or it just seems “too simple” but the more stupid simple I get with my solutions, the better they seem to do.

I laugh, but think selling a package for how to use skype for parents might actually sell very well, and all you do it get a parent, and do some video training sessions directing, explaining from their point of view.

    Get specific, keep experimenting!

Hi! I am impressed!! I had an idea that I Tried to validate on dating website forums as well… offered to re-write peoples headlines and profiles since they usually suck (something I have done for a few friends)..but i got banned immediately for “spamming”. How did you do this without getting spammed?! Argh! : )

    Jason Reply:

Jenn ,try it on Craigsilst instead. One thing I can tell you about people in the “dating community” is that they often don’t feel they should have to pay for their education, and so they torrent most of their products. It’s the mainstream people you want to go after. Have you considered starting your own meetup? Look for my post somewhere on this page that talks about how I created a dating advice meetup group that earns 3-4,000 per month.

    Hey Alan,

Interesting idea….but it would be nice to see some validation, as I think this would be a hard concept to get going by yourself.

You might try going to a conference, and tell everyone with an iPhone to download the app, and they’ll be able to see who they should talk to in the room.

It might find this to be a reasonably hard sell (which is telling you something).

Also checkout an app called “Highlight” ….it seems to kind of do what you’re talking about….everyone was using it during the SXSW conference.

App Sumo Validation. Here is my video.

    http://youtu.be/fx28pWzS_wE

    [Reply]

    Simon Reply:

It’s a good idea but I think you need more validation… Having one agent say he’s willing to use your system is a good start but it’s critical to do a mass validation where people demonstrate a willingness to pay.
    Example:
    1. Put an ad on Craigslist and offer a referral service for actors for a $10 fee.
    2. Put an ad on Craigslist/Google Adwords for an actor-search service (say cost is free for now) and see if you find any people who want to hire. Offer benefits like vetting the identity and verifying their portfolio, lower total-cost-of-hiring, etc.

See what happens. Yup, it is very low-tech, and might look shady, but if the market is really there, you should still get many inquiries since it’s only $10.

No offence, but apart from Adil’s great effort and Allan’s great effort, it seems that people who have done this course really gained very little from this course. People don’t really seem to get what validation means and how to do it efficiently.

I haven’t done the course, it’s way to expensive so not going to fork out that sort of ridiculous amount just because you prepared an autoresponder and built up hype,

    [Reply]

I don’t see why you have to bring your negativity here. To begin with what qualifies you to critique anyone’s efforts? Are you a successful product creator?

And how can you critique the course if you haven’t taken it yourself? And if you find the price of entry “ridiculous” then you must not be making money online so you’ve already disqualified yourself from critiquing the course or the students.

    JustMe Reply:

I don’t agree with all the Gil bashing here even though his comment was out of line. Gil, let me just say that in my humble opinion, “expensive” is relative. Is wasting months or years on the wrong business ideas cheap? No. I’ve done that and it’s very painful. Do most people pay for worthless college courses that give at best only a fraction of the value in return? Yes.

Indeed, many super successful people spend tens of thousands of dollars each year to invest in their professional development. When you start thinking in terms of ROI (i.e. making your money back and more after a few weeks/ months and saving weeks of wasted effort rather than just viewing courses as expense), then you’ll make the next step in entrepreneurship.

The AppSumo guys have been there and are showing you a system that works in return for a negligible amount. Your point about some people not implementing correctly does not matter – what matters is that quite a few people do using this wise model! If you go on to create one or ten businesses just from a $200 investment and save time and money doing this, then they provided you with infinite value! My jaw is still on the floor after reading about the guy who copied the Craigslist ad to snag an $18k contract…

All right bitches, I mean Sumo’s and fellow Sumo-lings :p.

I’ve got 10 days left until the final product is launched and it’s been 8 days.

Final total of sales that came through the door from my open door way to more stuff is at 137 sales so far at $7.

Gotta love foot traffic, testimonials and recommendations.

Anyway I added a free report to it as well and people seem to love it. Getting closer and closer to launching and already secured 2 JV partners with Lists in this niche, combined at 14,000 + people… plus the 137 buyers and the other people already on my list…

I think I’m going to have some fun with this as the full product will be sold at $77 + a wicked cool upsell.

    Anyway will report back,

    2 min summary – http://youtu.be/SOGOTWUVG0U

After watching the app sumo business blueprint I thought i’d start micro testing everything online.

I put all sorts of crappy ads all up on the interwebz.

    like,

    * Will teach you the social media ropes.
    * Will cook you dinner for pogs.
    * Male escort service (j/k)

    and on, and on…

    NO RESPONSE.

So I decided to look within my Facebook friend circle for ideas instead.

    I noticed the following:

I started a blog a few months ago called http://www.1000lifelessons.com which has started to gain some momentum online which my talented Facebook friends have noticed.

Artists, musicians, and photographers, are now asking me for help starting their very own blogs!

    So I thought…

CHA-CHING! Maybe this is a golden OPPORTUNITY?

So instead of teaching all these people 1 by 1. I decided to take Neville’s advice (from his course about building a course) and recorded a one time ACTION VIDEO – which could be shared/pimped out later to the rest of my friends.

So I grabbed my iPhone, met up with my friend at a local Starbucks, and started recording the coaching session.

In this recording I teach an ABSOLUTELY NEWBIE, how to START and run their own blog (for less than the cost of a Starbucks Orange Mocha Frappaccino!).

I take my friend from a big fat ZERO, to a BLOGGING HERO — In less than 1 hour (LIVE!).

I’ve now published the video for all of you to see here:

    URL: https://vimeo.com/39924477
    Password: startblogging37

My next step (after confirming this video ACTUALLY ADDS VALUE to the lives of others) is to SELL IT.

I’m thinking .99 cents for full access to the video…

What do you think. Is this worth .99 cents?

If I get a few sales, i’ll raise the price and go ahead with a full on non-wantreprenur jackie chan style business plan.

In the meantime i’m thinking of creating a free Weebly squeeze page with a paypal BUY NOW button, followed up with a set of highly targeted Facebook ads via (ppc).

I would love to hear your feedback on this Ghetto Test!

Would you spend .99 cents to watch a live coaching session on how to start your very own blog?

    Feedback appreciated :)

    ps. Nev rocks!
pss. And Noah Too ! :)

    [Reply]

    Leo Tabibzadegan Reply:

    Fail.

I created a quick squeeze page with a paypal buy button.

20 ppl clicked on my Facebook ad campaign and zero buys.

    http://startbloggingnow.weebly.com/

It’s been about 5 days, i’m going to wait a little longer to see if I get any bites.

-I also created an ad right on my own website http://www.1000lifelessons.com – hopefully that does a little better (as i’ve already got a strong relationship with my readers, and they know my stuff is A+).

Lessons learned regardless :) I’m happy I took action and just GOT ‘ER DONE! (thanks Noah & Nev!)

    [Reply]

    Marc Reply:

    Hey Leo,

I know this sounds counter intuitive but I would suggest you try raising the price to something like $20-$25. I remember a story of a graphic designer on elance who was asking about $15/hr for her services and no one wanted to use her. She then raised her rate to $60/hr and suddenly started getting work. Price signals the value of something so if you price too low people may not see what you have to sell as valuable and therefore not buy it.

Also when I saw that the video was 44 minutes long I just decide to close out the window. Maybe that’s because I don’t want to learn about setting up a blog. But you could also try breaking the video into smaller parts and putting them into sections. The saying on eating an elephant one bite at a time has a lot of merit.

Let me know if anything changes. Good luck.

I also think Appsumo should create their own forum where everyone can share and discuss ideas, experiences, failures, & successes further.

    -Marc

THE #1 VALIDATION-KILLER IN YOUR VALIDATIONS AND HOW TO GET RID OF IT

    What up?

Didja saw my first validation that made me $400 in 2 days? (…yeah I had to refund but it’s a test right?) Past 2 weeks I made a total of 10 validations. 2 took of!

The one that I present in THIS video is just a:

“Newsletter with german bestselling books for authors”

…Dude! To obvious? No! Read that:

In Germany JUST A FEW people know where to see bestselling books
online and the resources are very bad.

On amazon you just see amazon’s bestsellers, but the most popular SPIEGEL
Bestseller (like NYT Bestsellers just in Germany) are on another site with

yadda…yadda…yadda..yadda! It’s all screwed up here!
See how I validated it in the video:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFhQsFTOeZM

P.S. I forget to mention that I get affiliate money when someone
buys the book from the newsletter + IF it works well I’ll go and

test my audience (authors) whether they are interested in
stuff like “How To Promote Your Books with Guest Posts”.

BTW…saw alotta guys — by validating my idea — that have problems
    get their book known.

    Lemme know whatja think!

    —Arik

P.P.S. You’ll find out (in the video) how the same idea worked
for some people NOT out but for others very good!

(You can apply that to your validations) :-)

    Have fun!

    Thanks for the contest!

A couple months ago I made this validation test after I saw business blueprint

    http://tinyurl.com/76opgko

I WAS getting sales, but fulfilling the orders gave me a massive head ache… It was a custom wallet business where the customer sends me an image and I print it… The problem is that I was constantly getting low res pictures… like 14kb images and expected to print on canvas… Ugh… SO that whole process turned into spending hours doing photoshop and finding images for customers… Lost a lot of business in that process too.

MY NEW VALIDATION test is selling TRX products and also selling personal training sessions for an extra $75.

    You Tube : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P4eTxsnmcKI

    Store/Website

I put my validation on craigslist yesterday and got a couple people asking me if the TRXs are real… Maybe I shouldn’t have mentioned that I got them from China!

Ok King Sumo’s, my wife and I started an idea near the end of last fall and a major record label this past week has become very interested in purchasing this item for their top 2 artists.

We started validating our product idea with friends and family, then threw them on Etsy to see how the public would respond:

Mini Polaroid Magnet for the fridge: http://www.etsy.com/transaction/62697767

Then the product line expanded during the holidays to test another item:

    Mini Polaroid Ornament: http://www.etsy.com/transaction/66515199

Then we tested another item to see what are people wanting. We found the demand wasn’t as high and we couldn’t do the volume like on a magnet order:

    http://www.etsy.com/transaction/68753904

Then on Valentine’s Day, we started adding the captions to the Mini Polaroid Magnets for your fridge and we’re on to something – personalized magnets:

    http://www.etsy.com/transaction/71940869

The thoughts kept growing and the customers were responding: Valentines Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Veteran’s Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, Baby Dedications, Wedding Favors, and the new concept Artist Merchandise. Currently a large part of our market has been wedding favor magnets.

After generating a couple thousand in revenue from the first 2 months; we decided to work on a website.

Magnets for one or two artist from the label will be huge, but getting the entire record label on board will be awesome!!

We see this easily being a 5 figure a month business that would have great margins!

    Website: MiniPolaroids.com

Thanks for all the insight guys!!!! Keep it coming! :-)

When you put a couple of days of effort into trying to get ANYONE interest and you get only a
“meh” response, it could be time to move on.

Look at the more successful validations here (like Adil’s) and you’ll see he was BLINDSIDED BY SUCCESS which is a GOOOOOOD sign that something might be brewing there!

    Hi,

So here it is Nev & Noah. Thanks for the inspiration.
Thanks also to all you guys posting here, you’re a great encouragement!

Three ideas related to various things my wife and I are involved in.
    1) Online dance lessons (pre-recorded) for the over 60′s. http://www.simonascotto.com
    2) Online trumpet lessons (live – via skype) for beginners. http://www.trumpettuition.co.uk
    3) Social media channel setup and/or strategic planning for local businesses. http://www.liammorgan.com

Initial validation suggests not much interest in my ideas but before I move on to the next thing, I’m going to look at presenting the “product” in areas for validation that the target market are most likely to spend time in (I’ll probably need to do a little research for this) . So for instance, as I’m offering online trumpet lessons via Skype for beginners, these are most likely to be youngsters who’s parents pay for the service, so I’ll be looking at advertising or engaging on sites that mum’s spend time on. I’ve got the original Sumo Blueprint and there’s lots left in there for me to do so perhaps I’ll update everyone once I’m a little further down the line.

If you are selling to OLD people who don’t know what the hell the INTERNET is…..then online is bad. Try telling your wife’s students you have a dance video coming out in a week…..see if they’re interested. That would be more a true validation.

Although they might buy it only because of their personal relationship.

If there is lots of anticipation for it however, then you may be in business!

My buddy Felipe is an insanely talented artist & wants to launch a t-shirt biz (dime a dozen I know BUT don’t judge yet). After being schooled by both Business Blueprints (and currently reading Eric Ries’ The Lean Startup), I realized that he needed to validate his designs and get some feedback before spending the money to launch such an effort.

Thanks for the opportunity to participate in this wonderful challenge. Here’s my method of validation for a site dedicated towards male personal development (especially dating):

    1) bought domain name off 1and1, hosting free WordPress on Hostmonster
    2) use mailchimp’s free plan to collect emails
    3) use fiverr for some creative services/graphics
    4) Put it out on Facebook, got 35, most of them (30) are facebook acquaintances I never talk to, 5 of them are complete strangers.

Looking forward to building this out and providing a solid resource for guys. Love Adil’s and Tai’s case studies, which gave me even more ideas about doing my own information product.

    Thanks and good luck everyone!

In true lazy sumo fashion, I did the easiest thing I could imagine doing to validate my product idea. All this wantrapreneur bashing went to my head for a fleeting moment and inspired me for two short hours to go draw my product idea and submit it to Quirky.com – the ultimate in lazy sumo validation testing. Instead of paying the $10 to submit an idea, I took an even lazier step forward and submitted my idea for free on “Inventor’s Day” minutes before the midnight deadline.

To my great surprise my idea was chosen for product development out of thousands of others. If only they knew…

A better ice pack to fit those GIANT SUMO BELLIES. (I could say FAT SUMO ASS, but I’m a mom of 3 yr old twins who already have my potty mouth, oh my burning ears)
    http://www.quirky.com/products/269-A-Flexible-Ice-Pack

My passion, when my mini-sumos aren’t bashing each other’s heads in, is to redesign things. Mostly because they annoy me and I know I can make them better (and I can resume my laziness).

The truth is I’m too lazy to go to Austin. Sorry. You’ll just have to come to cowpoke Sonoma County for drinks.

I do want to say thank you for holding the gun to my head, I’d still be chomping on my sumo snacks had you not pushed me forward.

    Hey Neville, what’s up?
Remember me? I sent an e-mail to you and to Noah a couple of days ago reporting a vulnerability in one of the deals featured by AppSumo.

After that, I decided to validate an Idea I had before, and it is the web security course.
    This is my youtube video
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L23elQBcyds

The purpose of this course is basically to fulfill the need of updated information on this matter. Most of the information you find on line it’s waaaay outdated, and most of it, introduces a lot of vulnerabilities to the systems.

This course is aimed towards naive, and/or beginner web developer who underestimate the threats that exist out there.

I’m going to teach people to defend themselves from threats by teaching them offensive techniques (even though I expect them to use such techniques on their sites only)

    This is my landing page:
    http://www.websecuritycourse.com

I was able to buy a good domain, I have three excellent key words in the URL, I repeat them generously throughout the text, and if this idea takes off, the SEO shouldn’t be too hard.

P.S… If I win, I can drive all the way up to Austin ;) there’s no need to book me a flight :) my town is just a couple of hours away from Austin :D

So after spending a lot of time and money trying to build a muse which didn’t take off, after watching the SumoBizness Blueprint, I decided to focus on validating and selling the the crap out of the idea. And that’s exactly what I did. Hustle hustle hustle for feedback and sales… and the inviteble happened: I landed myself a deal worth over $3000. Nailed the deal and killed my inner-wantrepreneur at the same time! And not just that… I think I’m onto a big scalable idea as well. Edu-Vacation in Maui to Learn Ruby on Rails

We’re offering an outstanding educational opportunity to study Michael Hartl’s “Rails Tutorial” in Maui combined with one-on-one coaching to help students build and understand the sample app presented in the screencast. We provide the student with a great place to stay, a 1080p monitor, and a nice chair comfortable for studying.

Besides learning and spending free time in Maui, the training should qualify as a tax deductible expense, resulting in a lower after-tax cost than a trip to Maui without the educational tax break.

Personally, I believe the that watching sceencasts and building sample applications is the absolute best way to learn new technologies. However, students will sometimes I get stuck, and screencasts, like textbooks, don’t normally offer any support for questions. I want to bridge the gap of screencasts and conventional training in the paradise of Maui to create the optimal learning and recreational experience.

We tried to follow the steps of the Sumo course, but we found that selling something that costs at least $2,000 must have a different validation process than selling $7 tips on how to SMS girls more effectively.

Here’s what we did to validate the idea:

    * We sent out the idea to many friends in the technology industry. Here’s some comments we received:
“I love the concept of edu-vacations and being able to write off the travel to go learn.“
“It is probably a pretty good way to save some money on a trip to Maui if you are self-employed. I am not sure if you can get the tax write off otherwise. My father used to go to medical meetings in Aspen where he showed up in the morning for an hour or so then skied all day.”
“Personally, I don’t like to mix: in a vacation type setting, the last thing I want to do is sit all day in front of a computer, conversely, the best setup to learn for me is a lousy cold winter day (that’s why I did well in grad school at UMich). But, of course, everybody is different.”
“If you can give developers a chance to visit Maui and write it off their taxes, and you get your marketing plan right, you may be onto something.”

    * Craigslist: No responses with just a few days of listings.
    * Google Ad Words and a real website: We polished up the http://www.railsonmaui.com website, including a very nice interactive spreadsheet for calculating the tax savings. Then we launched an adwords campaign with a $10/day budget. We’re definitely hitting that $10/day on about 10 click throughs per day, and we have gotten a 10% response rate of those click-throughs wanting more information. Wow, adwords is really powerful tool to validate a business concept, but it might not be cheap. It is very worthwhile trying to validate a business idea just to learn about adwords. Unfortunately we’ve only had 2 days of adwords running and no closed sales yet.

    Conclusion:
There’s definitely a market for learning Ruby on Rails, and there’s definitely a market for travel to Maui, and doctors, among many professionals, have confirmed that combining leisure with pleasure is desirable. However this is a high priced, low-volume niche market, so I’d really like more information on how to validate this sort of business, as most, if not all, the examples focused on products selling for less than $100. On the flip side, there is very little start-up cost to launching the service, besides the marketing cost of the ad-words.

    Hey Neville, what’s up?
    Just some numbers,
So far one person signed up to my list, that means that probably no ones is as interested as I thought.
I paid a small ad in reddit under the webdev section… it costed me around 30 dollars. I guess it’s a reasonable price to validate (I mean I’d rather spend 50 dollars in a validation, than weeks or probably months on a product that won’t sell).

However, while I was looking at the statistics, people spent on average 4 minutes and 31 seconds on my landing page, so they were actually READING!!

I guess my CTA is not strong enough, I’ve read that potential leads should see a CTA as soon as they enter your page (just like Google, Yahoo, Twitter, Facebook, etc…).

I even put a share button, and posted about it on my programming blog; I do not expect too many visits from there, since my blog is in spanish and my product is in english. However ~90% of my audience in my blog is mainly from Spain (Even though I’m from Mexico, curious, isn’t ?), besides I do not have too many visitors/day on my blog, I just have about 100 unique visits a day (most of them returning visitors).

Any recommendation? Have you had the chance to look at my landing page?

I honestly bought your course because I think it makes me laugh more than anything plus you have some great information. I had an idea on offering free websites. then what I would do is get them to sign-up for hosting then make a $100 commission. It did really well then I built it up and was making a couple thousand per month off this one idea.

Then I did the whole badass site ordeal and expanded. In a nut shell I made 55 thousand plus in 6 months off this simple idea. I made 25,000 in sales over a about 6months and then sold the site for $30 plus thousand.

Check it this is my Auction: https://flippa.com/2697880-simple-wordpress-business-25-000-plus-profit-in-6-months

I really just want to validate what you are saying. When I was trying to validate this idea I used eBay and had crazy success. Look folks money is easy it’s just we are all taught we have to bust our asses to make a living F that non-sense!

Hey guys been working hard on a number of concepts but none got traction accept one ! And man did it get traction !!!! I have been following you guys for a while and what you where saying was resinating with me . If you want to see a serial wana be well that’s me loads of ideas and I mean they just flow like water or in most cases sh## and I run off in different directions not testing the market first and spending shit loads of my hard earned only to keep flopping !! Well I promised myself give these fat sumo guys a go and bingo no cash spent unless I tested and proved the product had a market first .,,,.ah friggen DAH !!! I tested 5 ideas over the last 21 days and it’s been crap ,,, crappier , ok , absolute shitter and gold !! It had to be a real product under 20 bucks and something we all need !!! Well I made a prototype, cost me nothing judt using bits and pieces i scabed up and I tested the product to make sure it works . Then I started to ask around abd posted the product on relevant blogs and websites even went in to some realtime retailers and gauged interest. Well sumo brothers in 7 days I have got 175 orders . Now I don’t consider it validated until I got the cash as talk is cheap and anyone can say I’ll have 10 of those thanks !! But ponying up the cash is a different story . My problem was how do I sell something I haven’t got?? Simple I typed up a little order firm that the cluster mets signed saying delivery in 45 days with a little get out clause if I can’t deliver ps I don’t want the money from my customers until the product lands . the great news is now that I have the orders and I am ready to go my little manufacturer in china can build the item for half what I thought . I think he was tired of all my talk in the past and prototypes that went no where but with a order attached he sharpened the pencil and put my project on top of the pile. Now what the product is you might be asking well guys I can te you it’s not a talking bottle opener! But stay tunned if I win this gig I’ll announce it to you all !! I will also the fat arse wana be will have a 1000 units sold in no time flat !!!!

    Watch this: https://vimeo.com/40417992

What I first made: http://www.i-calorie.de (sorry, everything in german):
you can rent a scientific tool which is measuring your energy expenditure –> made an ad for the german eBay with a link to my page –> FAILED!!! no e-mails…

    Second try: http://www.andersabnehmen.de (still german):
a dvd with the 100 best tips and tricks to lose weight or gaining muscle. I made a pdf-file with the 10 best hints for weigh loss without sports or dieting and a Google AdWords-campaign (voucher: free for me!) –> 15 people downloaded that file and gave their e-mail-addresses!!! I’m going to produce the DVD in the next couple days and going to have a 7-digit-revenue in four weeks for sure!!! (after getting some help from Noah and Neville!)

It’s amazing how some e-mail-addresses can boost your enthusiasm AND your business idea!!! THX

    Hello Sumos,

I’ve just started a modeling business – Hampton Roads Models.
And I mean I started not even 5 minutes ago!

    1. I posted my ad on craigslist. http://norfolk.craigslist.org/tlg/2967400666.html

Got a talent to respond WHILE negotiating a social marketing deal for a PRIOR Sumo Business.

AND I’ve already started negotiations on a modeling job for that MODEL!

    It’s simple.

    1. I posted my ad telling her it’s simple 2. I got her email, with pictures I didn’t even ask for 3. I sent her a google form as a job application 4. I went back to craigslist where she saw my ad and selected a good modeling job already posted ON THE SAME CRAIGSLIST PAGE!

I also started a webpage for the business. hamptonroadsmodels.wordpress.com

    2. Keep it low cost

    3. Be careful what you ask for, you might get it :)

    Thanks Big Sumo.

    I’m Arunoda from Sri Lanka.
My mic does not work greatly. That why I’m writing here rather than a video :)

I was an wanterprenuer. And now I’m trying to become a entreprenuer just because of you.
I started validating my idea dokeeno – http://dokeeno.com

Don’t blame me. I’ve already purchased this domain for another product few months ago. I just use it

    Here’s what I did
    ============
I’ve created a presentation on my idea and upload it to slideshare.
I created a webpage on http://dokeeno.com and shared it where ever places I could.

    I tried
    * hacker news
    * social media
    * many others

I got some traffic. But not much.
Then I moved with Quora and I got a customer confirmed to use my product :)

Now I’ve created a blog – http://goo.gl/r4TtP and trying to validate with this.

Hey guys! We started a social entrepreneurship called GIVE FIFTY ONE! With our validation video we have HAD OVER TWENTY SELLS IN TWO DAYS!! Check out our video below:

    http://vimeo.com/40756770

GIVE FIFTY ONE exists so that child homelessness doesn’t have to!

    Description:
We use humanitarian based apparel sales to support homeless children through:
    1. Bringing awareness to child homelessness,
    2. Providing support to homeless children directly, and
    3. Supporting other programs that help homeless children

    Mission:
With the profits from the sale of Give Fifty One apparel we form strategic partnerships and meet the needs of homeless children, giving 51% of our profits to see our vision become a reality.

    Company Overview
Our vision for GIVE 51 is to put clothes on children’s backs, enable them to get an education, put food in their mouths, and get kids off the street.

We became aware that number of homeless children in Charlotte has risen from 1,038 in 2004 to 4,711 in 2011! Furthermore, each year more than 1.6 million children in the U.S. alone are homeless; and world wide it is estimated that there are more than 100 million homeless children.

Our past of mentoring homeless children has inspired us to fuse the Give Fifty One brand with the desire to help put an end to child homelessness. Since then, GIVE FIFTY ONE was formed to support homeless children in the U.S. and Internationally.

We have a Passion to GIVE BIG. We give more than half because we believe that “it is better to give than to receive.”
